When I first started reading Brave New World I didn’t think I was going to like it. It took me a while to get into the book. I didn’t understand the language the author was using. Once the plot got going I ended up being very interested in the book. the storyline was crazy. It’s crazy to think that Huxley was able to think of a completely different world in the 1930s. Because I couldn’t understand some of the language so used Spark Notes to read after I read a certain amount of chapters. It helps explain the stuff I didn’t understand and I also read about things I missed in the book.
In the book there societal norms and morals are completely different from today’s society I think. I do think that their society had some things that we kind of have in a sense like a caste system. It’s not as defined as the book is but there are similarities. In the book, Huxley writes about the all delta society and how it didn’t work because the deltas didn’t want to work the lower jobs. I find that completely true in today’s society. I also think that individuality is a must-have because it pushes us to challenge each other and become better in society.
To make sure I’m constantly questioning the world around me is, be me and live on curiosity and ask questions. Being an individual is important and there will always be things in the world we don’t know. People should not be afraid to question things it should push them to ask questions and find out anything. To make sure I’m finding the moral good in the world I’m going to treat everyone as equals and help others. I want to be my best self in this world and know I’m making a difference and doing a good thing. I feel that actual true news is a good source to form your own opinion and not listening to other’s opinions to form your own. Listening to other’s opinions is good but I feel its better to compare your opinions and not form them based on others.
